I have limited space for storing hay and I would like to give my horses some alfafa pellets for extra protein, instead of baled alfalfa, along with their orchard grass hay. They are on oats, J.A.O, Weight Check Oil, and Red Cal.
My question is What are your thoughts on feeding alfalfa pellets?

I prefer cubes over pellets but they are OK.
Most horses don't need the extra protein though.
